Title
Towards Rethymno Court of First Instance. Law suit of the directorate of Rethymno Muslim Foundations, represented by the director Kiamis Veisagadakis against Emmanouil Mattheou Agiotakis.
Description
The defendant bought by Mehmet Fasouliatzis' heirs lands in Agios Dimitrios of Arkadi with the obligation to pay to the directorate what sellers owed because of ewkaf character of the lands, part of the offerings of Kara Mousa Passa (Paşa), founder of mosque. Ewkaf used to administer the lands, leasing them and receiving 1/4 of the rent; the 3/4 were delivered to owners ("galedarides"); therefore, according to the Ch. 107 of the 1899 law, directorate has the right to receive the 1/4 of the value of all sold lands.
