Lazian
The documents of Jean Lazian (Jan Lazyan, 1875-1956), an Armenian Catholic who lived in the Moda neighborhood of Istanbul, include passports issued by the Turkish Republic, allowing him to travel to Greece, Malaysia and France, as well as signature samples on various letterheads, including “The Turkish Gas, Electricity and Industrial Enterprise Company,” “Beyoğlu Galata Underground Railway Turkish Incorporation (Tünel),” “Régie Co-intéressé des Tabacs de l'Empire Ottoman” [Ottoman Tobacco Régie], “The Turkish Orient Trade Agency Limited Inc.” and the “United National Turkish Insurance Company.” The collection also includes protocols, contracts and charters for the “Régie Co-intéressé des Tabacs de l'Empire Ottoman”. Additionally, there are photographs, notebooks and personal correspondence of Jean Lazian and his family in the collection.
