Near East Relief
Most of the items in this series are administrative and accounting records related to the Near East Relief (NER, founded in 1915 under the name American Committee for Armenian and Syrian Relief) agency and its efforts to provide humanitarian aid in Anatolia and its environs during and after the First World War. It includes correspondence of the ABH treasurer and his assistants, between Istanbul and NER offices in Athens, Beirut, Paris, and New York, as well as between the NER departments, such as human resources, acquisitions, intelligence and transportation.
