Hayati Tabanlıoğlu
This collection brings together documents pertaining to architect Hayati Tabanlıoğlu’s (1927-1994) personal, professional life and projects of Yeşilköy Airport, Galleria Shopping Center and the Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM) in İstanbul. The various documents such as photographs, drawings, newspaper clippings and posters related to the construction and use of the Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM) and its restoration after the 1970 fire forms a major part of this archive, preserving the memory of this significant cultural entity. The archive related to the building was digitized and made accessible on the occasion of the exhibition The Performance of Modernity: Atatürk Cultural Center that took place at SALT Galata, September 21, 2012 - January 6, 2013.
