This collection comprises personnel files and immigration documents as well as institutional correspondence of the Geneva-based Conseil Oeucuménique des Églises [World Council of Churches], from 1950 to 1980. A small number of older files document the aids supplied by the United Evangelical Churches in Bulgaria and the United Church Board for World Ministries in the United States. Focusing on the lives of immigrants from the Balkans who sought refuge in Turkey after World War II, the archive constitutes a point of reference for regional studies and micro-history projects.
