Volume 51 (1908) of the Armeno-Turkish edition of Avedaper primarily contains articles on Christian religious subjects, ethics, and morals, especially related to the Protestant faith. It reports about happenings and events in the Ottoman Empire’s Armenian Protestant community and includes letters to the editor from contributors located in various cities and towns in Anatolia. Information about the activities of the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions, its personnel, and its schools and other institutions is also presented. It covers local and international political news and includes pieces on foreign lands, which offer information about regional history, politics, society, religion and, mission work. It also includes items on a wide range of topics of general interest, such as the Constitution of the Ottoman Empire.

The AVDAT collection was first inventoried and added into the American Board Library (ABL) in 2005 by Board archivist Brian Johnson and library assistant Janet Durna. It is included in the library’s larger collection of publications of the American Board (PAB), and it is arranged on the shelves in numerical sequence by volume, each coded ABL-PAB-AVDAT along with the respective volume and inventory numbers.
