Portrait of a large group of children, identified as Armenian refugees at the nursery at the church of Philippopolis, Bulgaria, 1923-1924. Reverse reads: "Daily average since September 1st, c. 56. Supported by N.E.R. Funds. Their mothers are thus set free to work, & earn at least something towards the food of themselves & other children. They are urged to contribute a little towards the food & fuel supplied daily for these children."
