The items in this series consist of official correspondence, documents, reports, and minutes of the American Board’s enterprises in Turkey and the Balkans. Most of the material in this series, primarily communications of officers and personnel, as well as reports by staff, committees, and mission stations and institutions, were singled out for their importance by the ABH administration during the mid-twentieth century. The majority of the reports focus on the Western Turkey Mission, however, there are also some documents that relate to mission ventures in Bulgaria, Greece, Syria and other locations in the Middle East.
