Description
Photograph mounted on backing paper, with "Samokov Girls School" typewritten and pasted below. Depicts a group of 11 women seated and standing on the porch of the boarding school's main building. The photographs's reverse indicates that "the white-haired lady in the picture is Miss E.T. Maltbie, who was Principal of the school for nearly forty (40) years." This is Esther Maltbie (1836-1917), who served at Samokov from 1872-1912.
