Description
Undated. Sermons listed in the back pages range from 1857-1891. Elias’s sermon notes (45 sheets) Opens with Luke 15:18,19, the parable of the prodigal son, and a discussion of the text. Later writing on the theme of “nature and necessity of repentance.” This journal contains notes for sermons on a range of topics, referring to various scriptures. At the end there is a listing of places preached and dates (Tarrytown NY, Greenwich CT, Yonkers NY, Elizabeth NJ, Pera, Haskoy, Balat, Balat, Stamboul, Scutari etc.). Undated, but sermons preached date from 1957-1891.

Elias Riggs's sermon notes primarily on the theme of repenting sin. Handwritten in ink. Paper is dark, but text is legible.
