Description
Primarily includes correspondence to William W. Peet from the American Embassy Constantinople (Istanbul, Turkey) and Schmavonian (Mardin, Turkey) about decisions of the Sublime Porte and military service.
Note
Documents concerning Mardin Girls' School were destroyed in a fire, prompting the American Embassy's request for new ones. In a letter from the American Embassy, Monastir claimed that a Mr. Kennedy is engaged in propaganda and that they don't want him to teach at an Ottoman institution. The letter asks for Mr. Peet's opinion.
