Ashâb-ı akardan olup İşkodra'da vefât eden İbrahim Ağa'nın mahdûmudur. 1275 tarihinde İşkodra'nın Reç Kasabası'nda dünyaya gelmiştir. Maskat Re'sinde İbtidai Mektebi'nde mebadi-i fünunu öğrendikten sonra iki sene kadar İşkodra Rüşdiyesi'ne devam ettikten sonra Çarşı-ı Kebir'de bulunan Mustafa Paşa Medresesi'ne kayıt olunmuş ve müderris Salim Efendi'nin vefâtına kadar dersinde hazır bulunmuş. Badehu Müderris Hacı Hüseyin Efendi Podgoriçe'nin halka-i tedrisinde bulunarak fünûn-ı aliyeyi bâ-tahsil 1316'da icâzetnâme almıştır.
