Bodrum Kasabası Sıbyan Mektebi'nde ulûm-i ibtidaiyeyi tahsil ettikten sonra Dersaadet'de Kalenderhane Medresesi'ne kayıt ile tahsil-i ulûm etme esnasındayken 1296 tarihinde Dârülmuallimîn-i Rüşdiye'ye devam edip 1294 tarihinde bir kıta icâzetnâme ile şehâdetnâme istihsal etmiştir.
