Memleketinde hıfz-ı Kur'an-ı Kerim'i ikmalden sonra on altı yaşında Dersaadet'e gelip Süleymaniye dersiâmlarından Hoca Reyhan Efendi'nin dersine devam ile beraber Bayezid Rüşdiyesi'ne kayd olunup 1284 tarihinde şehâdetnâme almış ve badehu Dârülmuallimîn'e dahi 1289 tarihinde şehâdetnâme istihsal eylemiş. Ve hoca mumaileyhden dahi icâzetnâme almaya muvaffak olmuştur. Belgede geçen ilk ve son tarihler: 1262-1 Teşrin-i Sâni 1325 (Hicri takvime göre Miladi 1845/1846. Diyarbakır'da Hüsreviye Medresesi'nde tahsil edip 1287'de icâzetnâme almıştır. Belgede geçen ilk ve son tarihler: 1258-31 Temmuz 1324 (Hicri takvime göre Miladi 1842/1843. Rumi takvime göre Miladi 1842/1843- 13 Ağustos 1908). Mustafa Rüşdi Efendi, muallim. Tüccarzâde Ahmed Halis Efendi'nin oğlu olup 1278 senesinde İnebolu'da doğmuştur. Maskat-ı re'sinde ibtidâî ve rüşdî derslerini bilikmâl şehâdetnâme almış ve hatt-ı sülüsden dahî ketebe ahz eylemiş. Ve Dersaadet'e gelip yüz doksan [...] Darülhadis Hasan Ağa Medresesi'ne bi'l-kayd Bayezid Cami-i Şerîf müderrislerinden ve huzur-ı hümâyun muhâtîlerinden [...] Eşrefzâde Hafız Mehmed Hulusi Efendi'nin dersine devamla 1310 senesinde icâzetnâme almış.
