Sıbyan Mektebi'nde mukaddemat-ı ulûmu okuduktan sonra Tophane'de Feyziye Rüşdiyesi'ne biraz devam etmiş. Badehu Mekteb-i Sultânî'ye kayd olunarak dördüncü seneye kadar mürettib olan dersleri görmüş. Ve bir kıta tasdiknâme almıştır. Belgede geçen ilk ve son tarihler: 1290-Ağustos 1325 (Hicri takvime göre Miladi 1873/1874. Rumi takvime göre Miladi 1874/1875- Ağustos/Eylül 1909). Faik Bey, muallim.
