Eskizağralı Kulaksız Oğlu çinici Hafız Edhem Efendi'nin oğlu olup 1278 senesi Temmuz'unun evâilinde Eskizağra'nın İbn-i İvaz Mahallesi'nde tevellüd etmiştir. Eskizağra Kasabası'nda kain İbtidâî ve Rüşdiye mekteblerinde ulûm-i lazımeyi tahsil ile şehâdetnâme aldıktan sonra Müftü Ahmed Efendi merhûmun halka-i tedrisatında bulunmuş. Ve bade'l-istila Edirne'ye hicretle Leyli Hamidiye Ticaret Mektebi'ne devam ile ulum ve fünun ve ziyai tahsil edip bir kıta şehâdetnâme almıştır.
