Fatih civarında Ağa İbtidâî Mektebi'nde ve Fatih Askerî Rüşdiyesi'nde tahsil ederek Mekteb-i Mülkiye-i Şâhâne'ye duhûl etmiş ve tahsil-i meşrût olan fenleri bade't-tahsil mülazemet ruusuyla ulûm-u siyasiye şehâdetnâmesine ahz eylemiştir. Mukaddemât-ı ulûmi Dersaadet'te Mahmud Paşa İbtidâîsi'nde ba'dehu Rüstem Paşa Medresesi'nde ikmal ile Dârülmuallimîn'e kayd olunarak 1307 senesinde şehâdetnâme ahzına muvaffak olmuş ve icâzetnâmeyi Trabzon'da Semercizâde Hacı Mehmed Efendi merhûmdan almıştır.
