Proje, 1964 yılında Bayındırlık Bakanlığı tarafından açılan yarışmada üçüncülük ödülü aldı. Yarışmayı Doğan Tekeli, Sami Sisa ve Metin Hepgüler'in ortak projesi kazandı. - The project was awarded the third prize in the competition held by Ministry of Public Works in 1964. The joint project designed by Doğan Tekeli, Sami Sisa and Metin Hepgüler won the competition.
