Title
Transfer 148. From U to Z. Index No. 65. Wim to Wiz
Creator
American Board. Office of the Treasurer
Description
Primarily includes correspondence to William W. Peet from Henry K. Wingate regarding travel arrangements for him and his family back to America and all that needs to be done in order to leave, including training replacements, land transfers, shipping inquiries. It also includes a letter to Charles T. Riggs notifying him of Wingate's leave (Talas, 1911 March 13). Also includes correspondence from Woman's Board of Missions of the Interior about the costs of the "Adana Building" (Mary L. Wingate, Chicago, 1910 September 7 and November 19).
Note
When discussing property, many of the correspondents inquire about changes from the "old regime" to the "new regime." Telegraph from M. L. Wingate explaining her rerouting to Eskişehir instead of Smyrna (Izmir, Turkey) due to quarantine (Konya, 1911 June 5). Correspondence from Wingate mentioning the inclusion of a manuscript copy of the catalogue of the school in Greco-Turkish for printing (Talas, 1911 May 5). There is a letter responding to Mr. Peet's regarding "the race problem." It appears Mr. Peet sent a list of questions perhaps to create a survey of sorts. (Wingate, Talas, October 18 1910).
