Description
Primarily includes correspondence to William Peet about accounts and orders mainly to the Hadjin (Saimbeyli) station. It also includes correspondences that chronicle the illnesses of some of the missionaries.
Note
"The Story of Shar" by Harold L Gardner (Saimbeyli, 1910 Sep 8). A letter from Charles F. Gates to William Peet (Istanbul, 1910, Nov 8) asking for statistics of Mission Schools and Colleges all over the Near East for an article he is preparing. Gardner inquires the necessary means to provide teachers the exemption of military service (1910, Nov 15 and 1911 Mar 22). A letter from Pastor Reverend D. H. Rajebyan on behalf of the Protestant community in Hadjin (Saimbeyli, 1911 March 18) concerning the distribution of funds among the other religious factions. A letter explaining the absence of Muslim Students in the school a Hadjin (Gardner, Saimbeyli, 1911 Apr 5). Dr Barton receives a letter about a problematic preacher who has shown up without invitation nor support (Hadjin, Saimbeyli, 1911 Apr 26). Emily Richter Gardner metions the name 'Gardner' has been added to her own because of her marriage to Mr. Gardner.
